Craft Room Inspiration

Happy Monday to you all. I hope you had a lovely weekend. I’ve been very busy with my latest projects and this week’s Monday Muse is all about craft room inspiration.

Last week I showed you this little bit of chaos…my craft room in complete disarray. I admit this isn’t the first time this month I haven’t been able to see my desk but this project is a bit different.

A few weeks ago I decided to make myself a new craft desk. Yep, just woke up one day and said, you know…I think I will design and build my own desk. Apparently I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express the previous night. Anyway, as it often happens, one thing leads to another and now I’m planning an entire craft room refresh.

SO, MY FOCUS IS ORGANIZATION AND INSPIRATION

I love the industrial modern style. I don’t think I could have an entire house full of it but I love certain pieces. I definitely want my creative space to have a little industrial vibe.

Lovin’ the big roll of paper at the end of this desk… from Country Living

I’m stuck on the idea of a long industrial table for my craft room like this one at Urban Industrial NW.

We built a pipe coffee table last year and it went together surprisingly well so I’m thinking a craft table like this is totally do-able. My current craft table is 33″ tall; about 5″ taller than recommended. I’m so excited to make my desk fit me, both in size and style.

Storage is always an issue in a craft space. I am obsessed with vintage printer’s cabinets like this one…

I love just about everything Cooling and Cooling Interiors has…to bad they are in the UK. Think of all the wonderful crafting goodies you could put in this awesome storage piece!

Creative spaces are some of the most fun, albeit challenging rooms to design because of the sheer volume of stuff. For me, to be productive in my craft room, I need to have the ability to organize it…to tame the creative chaos. But going too practical and utilitarian just doesn’t inspire me. Here are some creative spaces that have found a great balance between function and fun.

I’m really looking forward to starting on my creative space re-fresh. It’s not a complete overhaul as I already has some good pieces and storage systems but I’m excited to give it a new vibe and get a desk that fits my size.

What kind of creative space appeals to you? Have you found any good storage solutions for your craft supplies? I’d love to hear from you and I hope you enjoyed this Monday Muse.

Sharing is caring!

Hey I am so grateful I found your site, I really found you
by accident, while I was looking on Google for something else, Regardless I am here now and would just like to say kudos for a remarkable post and
a all round interesting blog (I also love the theme/design), I don’t have time to browse it all
at the minute but I have bookmarked it and also added your RSS feeds, so when I have time I will

Thank you very much for your kind words. It is very difficult, with so much information on the web, to attract the attention of new readers/followers. Your support means so much to me. You can subscribe to the blog and get an email when there is new material – it is no more than 2 notices per week.
      Thank you again!

Love some of the pictures. I’m not an industrial-décor person but I love all the cabinets and cubbyholes where we can tuck away all our supplies and treasures. I would like to see more of your storage solutions for the craft room when you are done.

I thought your craft room in Oregon was a crafter’s dream come true so I am excited to see how you top that one!

Thank you Diane! That room was twice the size of this one so I’m doing some purging and some re-organizing. Every space is a little different but I feel super fortunate to have a space dedicated completely to creating – no matter what the size.
