Little Desert Yard Party

Whew, what a crazy little week. I have so many exciting ideas about the blog – things to say, projects to do. Sadly, my faithful little 1970’s Bernina sewing machine is not cooperating. She randomly decides not to stitch for a spell and then starts again. Needless to say, she’ll be going in for an annual tune-up, pronto. So plan B – my very first blog video! So, a little info as to how this video came to be. A few months ago, we noticed some interesting paw prints down our side yard. Our house butts up against desert and mountains so it could be any number of critters. We’ve had javelina in the front but we were curious what was getting into the backyard. My husband purchased a game camera ‘to catch the culprit’ (really, he loves gadgets and this was a perfect excuse to get a new one). We moved it all around – setting it up each night and letting it run through the morning. Most days, we attach it to the computer, eager to catch the night prowler, and are sadly disappointed to witness a swaying branch or a piece of debris dancing across the yard. BUT, on this morning… we were the unknowing hosts of a little desert yard party. I think there was even some swimming involved! Well, since y’all were so kind to be my very first blog supporters, you get to endure enjoy this little ditty. I’m not sure it is drum roll worthy – maybe just a little “ta da”…

I so enjoyed your video; a beautiful start to any day. I miss seeing the quail where I live and it looks like Ms. Bunny is really enjoying your yard.

I’m really glad you liked it. I love the quail too!! They are such funny little birds. The bunnies are eating many of our plants but it is hard to get mad at them when they are so darn cute. We put some spray on the plants to deter them — we will see. Thanks for your comments. I love hearing from you.
